Possible changes to the NDIA Board

The Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is the group of people that make the biggest decisions about how the NDIS does work now and will work in the future.

At the moment the Board is made up of the same people that came up with the idea of having an NDIS, and helped to make it happen. They are people with disability, and family members of people with disability.

The Federal Government has been talking about making changes to the Board, so that it has more people who have worked on very big expensive projects that are not related to disability, because there is going to be a lot of money involved. But people with disability think it is more important to have people that understand what it's like to have a disability on the Board to represent them, so that it the NDIS doesn't become more about money than the people that need it.
