Victorian NDIS workshops
18 Feb 2018
AFDO Disability Loop has been writing a new workshop for people with disability and their families. This workshop is called Understanding the NDIS.
The three-hour workshops will cover lots of different parts of the NDIS; including knowing who is eligible for the NDIS, working out what support you can get in your NDIS plan, to actually using the funds in your NDIS plan to live a better life in the community.
Thanks to funding from the Victorian Government through the Transition Support Package (TSP) fund, we will be running the new workshop around Victoria throughout this year and next year. However, we will only be visiting each place once, so don’t miss out! When we visit, we will run the workshop three times. Once will be during the day, another will be in the evening, and the other during the day on a weekend. This should mean more people with disability and their families can come along to the workshop.
If you are a carer or family member, please also consider bringing along the person with disability to the workshop. The workshops are designed to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. There will be catered food breaks, activities, and time for discussion.
Our first workshops will be held in Wangaratta and Warragul in March. You can see more information about all of the upcoming workshops and register at the following link: www.disabilityloop.eventbrite.com

We would love to deliver our training all over Australia. So if you live outside Victoria and would like have to Disability Loop to run workshops about the NDIS near you, please register your interest by sending an email to email@example.com and tell us your name and which state or territory you live in. If we find out from you that there is a need and demand for our training, then we can look for some funding so that we can hopefully come to you!
Workshops for user-led and small community organisations
We are also running workshops in Wangaratta and Warragul specifically for small, user led community organisations. These NDIS workshops are about the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) part of the NDIS. For more information, please go to the links below:
