AFDO Disability Loop has been writing a new workshop for people with disability and their families. This workshop is called Understanding the NDIS.
The three-hour workshops will cover lots of different parts of the NDIS; including knowing who is eligible for the NDIS, working out what support you can get in your NDIS plan, to actually using the funds in your NDIS plan to live a better life in the community.
Thanks to funding from the Victorian Government through the Transition Support Package (TSP) fund, we will be running the new workshop around Victoria throughout this year and next year. However, we can only be visiting each place once, so don’t miss out! When we visit, we will try to run the workshop three times. One session during the day, another session in the evening, and a session on the weekend. This should give more people with disability and their families a chance to come along to the workshop.
If you are a carer or family member, please consider bringing along the person with disability to the workshop. Our workshops are designed to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. There will be catered food breaks, activities, and time for discussion.

We would love to deliver our training all over Australia. So if you live outside Victoria and would like Disability Loop to run workshops about the NDIS near you, please register your interest by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us your name and which state or territory you live in. If we find out from you that there is a need and demand for our training, then we can look for some funding so that we can hopefully come to you!
Workshops for user-led and small community groups/organisations
We are also available to run workshops specifically for small, user led community groups/organisations. These NDIS workshops are about the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) part of the NDIS. If you have missed out on attending our ILC workshops, and would like us to visit your group/organisation, please let us know by sending an email to email@example.com and tell us your name, group/organisation name, and which state or territory you live in.
