Luke is 27 years old. He has had Cerebral Palsy all of his life.

“I personally believe that the NDIS will improve the lives of people with disability and provide them with the support that they require for their lifetime,” says Luke.

Luke lives independently, and he tries to not let his disability be his life’s focus, “I believe disability means possibility.”

He socialises with his friends, girlfriend and family, living what he calls a relatively normal life, with the right support.

“I believe I have a fun and sensible way of explaining things, and therefore would be a great speaker at your community event.”

The Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) has recently employed and trained 30 people with disabilities from all over Australia to become NDIS Champions - to deliver reliable, fact-checked information about the NDIS in their local communities.

Note: NDIS Champions presentations were free during late 2016, but the project funding for this has ended. The Champions we trained are now working independently as presenters, and are charging modest fees to cover their time, expenses and expertise. Contact your local NDIS Champion to find out more.
